The Ceramic Mug is created on my wheel on the south coast of Dorset, England using white stoneware clay. After it is thrown and dries to leather hard, I form a handle from clay and attach it to the mug. When it is bone dry, the mug is loaded into the kiln for the bisque fire (1050 degrees Celcius). After 3 days the kiln is unloaded and the contents are ready to glaze.

First, all of the ceramics are given a wipe with a damp sponge. The exterior of this mug is covered in a glossy coral glaze. The interior is covered in a shiny clear glaze to allow the white stoneware to shine through. After the final high firing (that reaches 1240 degrees Celsius), the mug looks and feels wonderful!!! Very tactile! Great for cradling your morning coffee or tea!
