Ceramic Oil Burner, Wax Melt Warmer, Soya Melt Burner for your favourite wax melt, aromatherapy or essential oils.

The handmade Oil Burner is created on my potter’s wheel using brown speckled stoneware clay. When the base was partly dried (the leather hard stage), the moon and the opening for the tea light were cut out and the edges softened. The Oil Burner continues to dry slowly until it is bone dry (see photo of the burner on the shelf)....then it is fired in the kiln to 1050 degrees Celcius (the bisque firing), The oil burner is then ready to glaze.

The interior and exterior of the base and the well of the burner are glazed in glossy black glaze which lets the light reflects from the candle. A flash of blue glaze are added by the moon and in the bottom of the well. The burner is returned to the kiln for its final firing to 1240 Celcius. This takes 2 days and on the third day the kiln is unpacked and I pack the newly fired ceramics into crates and take them home to photograph and list.
