The Ceramic Mug is created on my wheel on the south coast of Dorset, England using warm white stoneware clay. After it is thrown and dries to leather hard, I form a handle from clay and attach it to the mug. When it is bone dry, the mug is loaded into the kiln for the bisque fire (1050 degrees Celcius). After 3 days the kiln is unloaded and the contents are ready to glaze.

First, all of the ceramics are given a wipe with a damp sponge. The exterior of this mug is covered in an eggshell glaze. The interior and lip of the mug are covered in a shiny white glaze. After the final high firing (that reaches 1240 degrees Celsius), the mug looks and feels wonderful!!! Very tactile! Great for cradling your morning coffee or tea!
